“Joining Meta was a big move for me as I moved from India to the UK, and it’s Really Devastating to be in the situation of getting laid off from your new role after just a few months in a new country. I am now open to new opportunities and relocating anywhere in the UK, Europe, and India,” his LinkedIn post reads.

Another Indian origin Meta employee shared her story on LinkedIn and wrote that she got to know about her layoff while attending her brother’s convocation in New Jersey.

The ex-Meta employee mentioned how she had moved from New Jersey to California for her role but after exactly a year, she was informed that she was being given the pink slip.

“Life has an intriguing way of coming full circle, as I have recently experienced firsthand. Last year during this time of the year, I was all packed and ready to move across the country from NJ to California to join my dream company, Meta.

And this year, while I was attending my brother’s convocation in New Jersey, I was informed that my role at Meta was eliminated as part of Meta Layoffs. Though the timing was unexpected, being surrounded by my family during this period brought a sense of comfort and support,” her LinkedIn post read.
