In 2019, I had to discard a full album to record ‘African Giant’ – Burna Boy reveals

Grammy-award-winning artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna boy has revealed why he had to discard a fully made album to record African Giant.

During an interview on Billboard’s Music Con, the self-acclaimed African Giant revealed how he was pushed during the 2019 Coachella incident, to dumb a fully made album to record hit album, African Giant.

According to Burna boy, he recorded the African Giant album because he felt insulted by the Coachella incident of 2019.

Recall that in 2019, he was listed in the lineup of artists to perform at Coachella that year, but, he found it difficult to locate his name because it was written in small fonts.

He noted that he had another album ready to be released that period, but he dumbed it, started calling himself African Giant, and then went ahead to make the Grammy-winning album.

According to him, the Coachella incident was his inspiration to record the African Giant from scratch and if it hadn’t happened he would have released the other album.
