No blockage asylum for IPOB, applications will follow procedure – UK

In compliance with the sit-at-home order allegedly issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, Owerri, the Imo state capital was empty on Monday as banks, schools, marketplaces and offices were shut.

The IPOB had said that it had not instructed the weekly sit-at-home order, but every Monday, residents of Owerri, Imo state, had continued to stay away from offices, marketplaces and workplaces.

Major roads were literally empty, only few roadside traders were seen operating on a low scale.

The metropolis and the adjourning towns like Mbieri, Orji, Egbu, Amakaohia, Akwakuma and Umuguma were not leftout as people stayed indoors.

A resident said, “It has become a culture for us here. Every Monday, we sit at home. We do this for our own safety. There is insecurity in the land and it is better to stay away from workshop every Monday to be alive and risking it because life has no duplicate.”
