Unknown gunmen kidnap four Chinese rail workers

There was intense panic in Imo State on Wednesday night after gunmen abducted the traditional ruler of Umueze Nguru in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of the state, Eze Charles Iroegbu.

The gunmen additionally abducted the cabinet chiefs of the kingdom who escorted the Royal majesty, Iroegbu, to a public function within the state.

The esteemed ruler, who is the proprietor and Chief Executive Officer of All States Mass Transit, and his cabinet chiefs were abducted after attending a traditional wedding in Mbano, Top Naija reports.

They were in three cars and were returning back to the realm when the gunmen ambushed them and redirected their movement, our reporter gathered on Thursday.

The kidnapping of the ruler and his cabinet chiefs had instigated fear in the community.

A source stated, “His Highness and his cabinet chiefs were on the back from a traditional wedding ceremony in Mbano when they were kidnapped. This is unbelievable and there is fear and panic everywhere.”

A community source who disclosed to our reporter showed concern that the abductors had not made contact since the attack.

He further said that the community was depending on God for the king and his cabinet chiefs to return safely since police developments in the state were under severe attacks.

The police representative in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, stated that he could not confirm the kidnapping when our journalist made contact with him.
