“I’m not sure that Mbappé is a striker” — Lewandowski
The upcoming 2024/25 season is going to be a tough one for Barcelona as arch rivals Real Madrid have built up another Galactico with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe to haunt their dreams.
However Barcelona’s star striker, Robert Lewandowski, is looking at things from the positive spectrum as the French forward arrives in La Liga.
The 25-year-old Kylian Mbappe and French sensation, who joined Real Madrid after leaving Paris Saint-Germain as their all-time top scorer, is set to bring his dynamic style to the league, donning the iconic no.9 shirt as Vinicius Jr dons on the no.7.

While Mbappe is celebrated for his versatility on the field, capable of playing on the wings or as a striker, Lewandowski emphasized the differences in their playing styles. The Polish veteran, renowned for his goal-scoring prowess, sees Mbappe’s presence not as a threat but as a fresh challenge and inspiration for the new season.
In a statement to Barca Universal, Lewandowski remarked, “I’m not sure that Mbappé is a striker like me. He plays in a different position and has a different style of football. For us, it is a new motivation, a new season.”
The La Liga giants, led an envious campaign last season as they won the treble of La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup and a Champions League final victory over German side, Borussia Dortmund.
With the arrival of the former Paris Saint-Germain star, things can only get more dire for the Catalans who are currently battling financial misfortunes in an attempt to regain their prominence as a top side in Europe.
