“I’m a beast, I don’t forgive” AY exposes Basketmouth’s 17-year unforgiving nature
In a recent update to the AY-Basket Mouth beef, AY revealed that the feud had affected their relationship so much that he was not even invited to Basket Mouth‘s wedding.
AY recounted how he and his wife had attended the wedding, but upon arrival, they discovered that his name was not on the guest list, and he was not qualified to enter the wedding venue.
He said, “I was looking at my wife, my wife dey look her husband and she was like okay, let’s be going home since you no qualify to enter.” This incident was just one of the many times AY was excluded from events because of his beef with Basket Mouth.
AY also noted that the beef was so bad that his name would be removed from event lists if Basket Mouth was on the bill. However, AY did not give up and kept striving for success, even when his colleague was not supportive.
One day, while both comedians were at a club, AY decided to bury the hatchet and approached Basket Mouth to end their feud. AY reminded Basket Mouth of their blessings, including their respective homes and children, and asked him to drop the grudge from 2006. However, Basket Mouth’s response was less than forgiving. He looked at AY and said, “I’m a beast, I don’t forgive.”
Despite Basket Mouth’s response, AY has continued to thrive in the entertainment industry, becoming one of the most successful comedians in Nigeria. He has also remained humble and focused on his craft, never letting past feuds affect his relationships with other colleagues.
In December 2022, Basketmouth announced his divorce from his wife, Elsie, after twelve years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in Lagos, Nigeria, in November 2010, and they have three children together. He wrote, “I and Elsie are announcing that we have decided to part ways as a couple. We have enjoyed a beautiful friendship and marriage over the years, and we will always have love and respect for each other. We ask for privacy and understanding during this difficult time.”
The announcement came as a shock to fans and followers who had admired the couple’s love and commitment to each other. However, Basketmouth noted that the decision to end their marriage was a difficult one and was made after much thought and consideration.
