Idyl emerges winner of the voice nigeria season 2

After about fifteen weeks of competition, Daniel Diongoli popularly known as Idyl has emerged the winner of the second season of music talent reality show, The Voice Nigeria.

Following performances from all four judges alongside the two finalists on each team, results from the viewers’ votes revealed #Team Waje’s Wow, #Team Timi’s Idyl, #Team Pato’s Ebube and #Team Yemi’s Syemca as the top four contestants, sending home Chris Rio, J’Dess, Yimika and fan favorite, Jahtell  for their respective teams.

For the final acts, the 22-year-old singer, Idyl performed John Legend‘s “This Time” while Ebube performed “I am Your Angel” by Celine Dion as they both made it to the top two

Amidst tension and uncertainty, Idyl was announced winner and his mentor, Timi Dakolo and the other participants who had been dropped at critical stages in the competition joined him on stage to celebrate his victory.

The winner earns a recording contract with Universal Music Group, an SUV car worth N7m and a trip to Abu Dhabi.

The Voice Nigeria Season 2 edition saw four performers make it to the grand finale, but Idyl walked away with the dream prize.
