“I worked very hard to bring Tinubu – Wike together” — Magnus Abe

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Senator Magnus Abe, a notable political figure in Rivers State, disclosed his crucial involvement in facilitating the collaboration between former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and President Bola Tinubu.

Amidst the charged political climate leading up to the 2023 general elections, Senator Abe departed from the All Progressives Congress (APC) after losing the Rivers State governorship primary to Tonye Cole.

Subsequently, he joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP), where he secured the party’s gubernatorial nomination but ultimately lost to the incumbent governor, Siminalayi Fubara, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Following the elections, Abe rejoined the APC and has since been outspoken about his role in fostering a strategic alliance between Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and President Tinubu.

“I was one of those who worked assiduously to bring Wike and Tinubu together,” Abe asserted during the interview. “You can confirm that from anybody in this country. I was one of those who promoted that idea, I worked very hard to see that they work together,” he added.

Abe attributed the alliance to significant advantages for the supporters of President Tinubu, commonly referred to as the Asiwaju team. His efforts in promoting this collaboration have been acknowledged as instrumental in shaping the political landscape.
