"I will still speak my truth as I see fit" -- Kate Henshaw

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has responded to criticism following her involvement in a fundraising dinner hosted by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who is seeking re-election on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

The event occurred on the same day that the Supreme Court affirmed Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election, dismissing appeals from key contenders Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Kate Henshaw, alongside her colleague Okey Bakassi, hosted the fundraising dinner, which drew negative reactions from some Nigerians on social media.

In response to the online criticism, Henshaw defended her decision to participate in the event, emphasizing that her involvement in the fundraising dinner was a personal choice.

Taking to the X app, Kate Henshaw expressed her stance, stating,

“Someone called me this morning to check the X app. I was invited to host a fundraiser alongside my colleague. I accepted. My prerogative. What is the noise about?

“The difference between you and me is that I will still speak my truth as I see fit. End of.”
