The Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Joseph Ari, has revealed that he will not contest for any elective position, TopNaija reports.

Joseph Ari made this known at a press briefing on Saturday in Jos. According to Ari, he had never contemplated contesting for any elective position now or within the nearest future.

Ari, who is currently the boss of The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) is a parastatal of the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment which was established in 1971, also revealed that he is presently busy and fully engaged with the responsibility of deploying the mandate of the ITF to equip Nigerians with skills for employability and entrepreneurship.

He observed that some people were bent on pulling him down by printing campaign posters suggesting plans for elective office.

In Ari’s words, People are suggesting that he “is aspiring for an elective position and also canvassing support for the aspirations of some candidates that are vying for elective positions within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I have been reliably informed that these people plot to flood the convention venue with these posters to breed mistrust and disharmony and thereby generate rancor for their own selfish purposes”.

He called on the general public to disregard any campaign poster to the effect that he “is running for any elective position, or in support of the ambition of any candidate during the upcoming APC convention as it is false, unfounded and not deserving of any attention”.
He also said that he had reported the interest the safety agencies for his or her further necessary action.

Sir Ari completed the cycle of his public service at the state level when he was appointed Permanent Secretary in charge of Government House Administration; a position he held until his appointment by the Federal Government as a Director in the Department of Public Relations, External Affairs and Publicity of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF, a grade ‘A’ Federal Government Parastatal under the aegis of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
