I wanted to sign for this club, Chelsea -- Moises Caicedo

The Moises Caicedo derby and transfer saga is officially over now as Chelsea has formally confirmed the signing of the Ecuadorian to the club.

Moisés Caicedo signs his contract as a new Chelsea player on £115m package deal plus sell on clause. The move was finalized today following the completion of his medical and media duties at Stamford Bridge.

Reacting to the move, the former Brighton star said;

“I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me,”

“I just knew I wanted to sign for this club, Chelsea. It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait.”

On his inspiration growing up, Caicedo points out the likes of Claude Makelele and N’golo Kante, both Chelsea legends inspiring his move to London.

According to the Ecuadorian, growing up, he was a fan of the Blues.

“Makelele and Kante were an inspiration to me. When I was a kid, I supported Chelsea and used to watch the games. It’s amazing to be here,”

“I don’t hope, I am sure we are going to win a lot of titles with this amazing club, to put Chelsea where they deserve to be,”

A photo dating back to before Brighton had signed him for a £4.5m fee to the league, Moises Caicedo was pictured in a Chelsea kit in 2021.

The move hasn’t sat quite well with the Liverpool fans as they take on to social media to fault the club’s owners for the transfer merry-go-round that cost the Reds two players at a stretch.

For Chelsea fans, the saga is over, Moises Caicedo is at West London.
