“I wanted to be a rapper, being a comedian wasn’t my first choice” – Basketmouth recount early childhood

Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has revealed that comedy was not the first professional choice he considered.

The comic recently graced the cover of Thisday Newspaper Weekend’s Style magazine, where he discussed his upbringing and how he found his knack for humor.

Bright noted that he was surrounded by pals who were always cracking jokes, thus it took him a long time to understand he was hilarious, not until he began doing stand-up comedy.

He was split between being a comedian and a rapper after his discovery.

Throughout his childhood, the famous comic remarked that his father never said no to him becoming a comedian.

However, his father only imposed one key condition on him: he had to finish school and graduate.
