I Have No Business With Ronaldo—Ralf Ragnick Reacts
Ralf Ragnick may no longer want anything to do with Manchester United, but for one reason or the other, his name gets mentioned even when he is many miles away in Austria managing his business.
The recent link to Manchester United came when the German’s name was referenced by 5 time golden ball winner, Cristiano Ronaldo in relation to how far the Old Trafford club has sunk since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
This prompted the Portugal international of referring to Ragnick as a manager he had never heard of before nor was sure of his profile as a football manager.
In response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s assertion that he had “never ever heard” of him, the former interim manager of Manchester United has answered.
In a recent heated interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo attacked Rangnick, saying he had “never heard” of the German.
The Portugal captain remarked, “Rangnick isn’t even a coach. Not only did the hiring of a sports director by a major club like Manchester United surprise me, but the entire world.”, proving Cristiano Ronaldo was very much against the hiring of the German in the first place.
Ralf Rangnick was appointed as interim manager of Man United in November of last year, and he oversaw the team for the majority of the 2021–2022 season.
The 64-year-old succeeded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and was scheduled to serve as a consultant at Old Trafford for an additional two years.
Rangnick, however, resigned from Man United of his own free will and went on to lead the Austrian national side after the Red Devils eventually named Erik ten Hag as their permanent manager.
When asked about Ronaldo’s remarks, Rangnick is quoted by Sport Witness as saying:
“I’m the team boss of Austria’s national team, it’s not my job to judge that. (It’s) the job of Manchester United and the sports journalists.”
