I have lofty aspirations for Chelsea—Raheem Sterling

Former Manchester City winger, Raheem Sterling got his first 3 points with current club Chelsea in their Premier League season opener against Everton after his successful move to West London.

Since then, the England international has set up his targets for his future at Chelsea, and they involve helping the Blues to a trophy he was not privileged to have won at Manchester City.

In a recent interview, the former Liverpool no. 7 admits the Champions League is something he is looking to win for Chelsea even though the club has won it before.

Ironically, the Stamford Bridge’s side’s recent Champions League win was Raheem Sterling’s Manchester City side in the 2020/21 Season, the farther Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side has ever gone in the competition.

Although, the 27 year old can take solace in having won 4 Premier League titles, 4 league cups and FA Cup while still at the Etihad.

“I haven’t played Champions League football with Chelsea yet. They have obviously won it. I haven’t. They have got bragging rights,” the England international told the English press on Thursday.

“But again, I am here to try to win it. I don’t know if I am better off here or there [at Man City] – it is not really my fault. I will just go out and try to help the team as I do every season.”

Sterling is yet to contribute an official goal for Chelsea since the Premier League season started, with Chelsea’s goal against Everton coming from a penalty scored by teammate, Jorginho.
