"I have a 'No work, no play' policy" — Enzo Maresca

Chelsea new boss, Enzo Maresca is not ready to show solidarity to any player who won’t show their worth in his team, and in a pre-match interview, the Italian manager has warned his new signings of what to expect.

‘You don’t work hard, you don’t get to play’, which funny enough is a pun on the term; ‘you don’t work, you don’t get paid.’

Enzo Maresca has revealed the no-nonsense ultimatum he gave summer signings Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix before they completed their shock transfers to Stamford Bridge.

“Jadon Sancho is not a ‘Chelsea’ player” — Enzo Maresca

Chelsea: Enzo Maresca explains reason for Sterling snub

In a candid pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Bournemouth, Maresca disclosed that both stars were told in no uncertain terms that hard work is non-negotiable if they want to feature in his squad. The message was clear: no commitment, no game time.

Sancho joined the Blues on a surprise loan deal from Manchester United, while Felix made his return from Atletico Madrid. But Maresca isn’t offering any free passes—no matter their star status.

“If you don’t work hard, you won’t play,” the Chelsea boss warned.

Hence, Enzo Maresca is telling Chelsea fans and neutrals not to expect Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix as key players in his team despite their supposed big money transer.

Will these marquee signings rise to the challenge under Maresca’s strict regime, or could Chelsea’s new era of discipline leave them sidelined? Only time will tell.
