“I Go Dye absconded with my Money” — Mr. Eazi

Nigerian music sensation, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has recently made allegations against comedian I Go Dye, accusing him of absconding with funds intended for a concert appearance.
During an interview on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, Mr Eazi disclosed an incident where I Go Dye failed to honor a performance commitment at a concert organized in Ghana despite being paid for the event.
Recounting the ordeal, Mr Eazi shared,
“I organized the first social award of my university, the Swagatainment Award, where I had booked R2Bees, Wande Coal, and Sarkodie to perform. However, Wande Coal was present but didn’t make it to the event, allegedly due to not receiving his full payment.”
He further elaborated, “In a tight situation, I pleaded with Sarkodie, even though I hadn’t paid him the full amount of $2,500, to grace the stage. He graciously came through, and that’s why he’s more than a friend to me; he’s a brother. While I had performances by Sarkodie and R2Bees, I Go Dye absconded with my money.”
Expressing his disappointment, Mr Eazi recalled reaching out to the comedian regarding the unpaid fees, stating,
“I remember texting him, reminding him that he never fulfilled his payment obligation. Hopefully, the next time I see him, I’ll kindly remind him that he still owes me money. It’s not a personal issue, but it remains in the back of my mind.”
