“I can confirm that” — Troost-Ekong on Osimhen

Victor Osimhen, Nigeria’s prolific striker, has long been admired for his fiery performances on the pitch.

However, according to Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong, there’s more to the Galatasaray forward than meets the eye—Osimhen has a soft spot for Chelsea Football Club.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Troost-Ekong spilled the beans about Osimhen’s allegiance to the London club.

“I can tell you he’s a Chelsea fan, I can confirm that,” Troost-Ekong revealed, adding fuel to ongoing speculation about the striker’s potential Premier League future.

This revelation follows a summer transfer saga in which Osimhen was heavily linked to Chelsea. Though a deal fell through, leading to his temporary stint at Galatasaray, the Blues may still be on his radar, given his undeniable love for the club.

Beyond his fan allegiance, Troost-Ekong lauded Osimhen’s mentality, describing him as a standout leader.

“He’s a great teammate. In front of goal, he can be very greedy, but he’s someone who speaks up for the team in the changing room. He’s a real leader, and I’m sure he’ll be captain soon,” the defender added.

Troost-Ekong also shared how Osimhen, once an understudy to Odion Ighalo in 2019, quickly earned the admiration of his teammates with his relentless drive and skill.
