"I am inspired by Ten Hag" -- Van Nistelrooy

Former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has expressed his admiration for Erik ten Hag amid rumors of a potential coaching role at Old Trafford. Van Nistelrooy, who scored 150 goals in 219 appearances for United between 2001 and 2006, could join Ten Hag’s backroom staff following the departure of attacking coach Benni McCarthy.

Van Nistelrooy, currently in talks with Burnley over their vacant managerial position, praised Ten Hag in an interview with The Coaches’ Voice. He listed Ten Hag among the “great Dutch coaches” who have inspired him, alongside legends like Rinus Michels, Johan Cruyff, and Louis van Gaal.

“I love the game, and I love a certain way of playing,” Van Nistelrooy said. “At Manchester United, Sir Alex was always pushing us forward. I want to transmit that same feeling to my teams.”

Reports suggest that while Van Nistelrooy is keen on a return to Old Trafford, United’s immediate priority is securing a new contract for Ten Hag.
