“I am happy at Chelsea” — Cucurella dismisses Barcelona rumors

Once castigated at Chelsea, now cherished after having a chance to prove himself, Left-Back Marc Cucurella has seen rumors emerge of a potential return to Barcelona in the future.

The Chelsea defender however has addressed the speculation linking him with a return to Barcelona, emphasizing his contentment with the Blues. The 25-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2022, played for Barcelona earlier in his career but insists he is not considering a return to the Spanish club.

In an interview with COPE, Cucurella said, “Today I don’t even think about it; it doesn’t even cross my mind. I think that’s already happened. You never know what can happen, but I’m not thinking about that. At Chelsea, I have had some difficult years, but I’m happy and my family is comfortable.”

Despite rumors suggesting a potential move back to Barcelona this summer, Marc Cucurella remains focused on his current club, where he aims to overcome past challenges and continue contributing to Chelsea’s success.

Although, in football, the statement ‘Never Say Never’ stands a golden rule as nothing can be ruled out as long as the athlete’s career spans out.
