I am a better Player now- Joe Aribo claims

I am a better player now, Joe Aribo remarks when recounting his season with Scottish club, Rangers.

Few players would ever consider the idea of being comfortable playing in an alien position, but for Rangers and Super Eagles player, Joe Aribo, he considers it a privilege.

The Nigerian player considers it to be the reason why he has become more of a better player with loads of confidence than he ever was.

The Super Eagles star revealed there was the time he had doubts about himself but he has left that period far behind him after being thrust into the heat of several positions by Rangers boss, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.

Aribo became a vital presence for Rangers last season as they won their first Scottish Cup final in 13 years and made a sizzling run to the Europa League final, which they were minutes from winning only to lose to eventual winners, Eintract Frankfurt on penalties.

“Playing in different positions has helped me realize what I’m capable of doing and also given me an opportunity to keep growing,” Aribo told BBC Sport Africa in an interview.

“As a young footballer craving a chance to play, you’d grab the chance to even play in goal. But here I am being asked to play for my club in different roles on the pitch, I was happy to do it.

“I must say I am no longer the player I was after going through that phase [of self-doubt].”

Joe Aribo in his seasons with Rangers, has been thrown across multiple flanks as the necessity arose; in Midfield, at wingback or as a full back.

It’s become a key factor the Nigerian considers an influential factor in his progress as a player.
