Networking is a word that implies the building of sincere relationships based on mutual generosity. Networking is a set of social skills and it is built on good relationships. Networking is one salient key to business and career success.

Networking is the process of meeting others to exchange information, make new professional contacts and create helpful relationships. Those relationships are needed when you need new connections, new skills, new job, new friends, new future. However, anyone skeptical about approaching strangers need to give it a trial and start by being courageous.
Networking skills are essential in both personal and professional environments. Some of these skills are communication skills, active listening skills, social skills, public speaking skills. If you need a success story, networking is required and here are some basic ways on how to network with people.

Ensure you interact with new people and converse strategically and let the other person(s) speak.. Don’t start conversations by asking for a job or referrals. You can network while volunteering for a cause you care about. This can allow you to meet liked minded individuals within and out of your industry. Networking while volunteering and participating in charity working can also help you communicate your work ethic and values while securing a worthy cause.

Lastly, once you have a new connection, it is important to start to build and strengthen the connections. For valuable and lasting network connections, revisit contacts by emailing or texting few days after meeting to express your pleasure in meeting them. It creates quality connection.

Networking effectively has several advantages like it helps you find jobs, recruit talents, find customers, investors, career development, professional and genuine advises, help others get jobs. So, spread your net wide and do not limit your network to current colleagues, past employers, friends, family. Generally, you need people to help you succeed in all spheres of life.
