Because the need for State Information Communication Technology is very germane to the growth and development of a State, this was the foresight of the Government that gave birth to Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA).

When the bill was passed into law on 27 June 2011 (Law No 21), it was formally launched and registration was flagged off on the 19th September 2013 by the former Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola

Currently headed by Ibilola Kasunmu, the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) is tasked with the mission to register all residents of Lagos State, irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity, religious affiliations, or nationality.

As long as the individual resides in the State and intends to continue to remain in the State for 3 months or more, they are obligated to register.

However, persons aged 0–15 years are considered children in the registration of Lagos State residents initiative and as such are not required to have their bio-metric data captured until such time when the age of 16 years is attained.

There are two (2) modes of registration:

1. Online Registration
Here, the applicant registers via the internet using our online registration portal.

A unique reference number is generated online which the applicant takes to their nearest registration point or office for their bio-metric information to be captured. Save time today, pre-register online.

2. Direct Physical Registration
This is done at a registration point. Here, the applicant’s data is entered manually by the registration officer directly into the registration data bank and their bio-metric information is captured.
