How to Apply for the Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment 2023

On Monday, the Nigeria Immigration Service opened its portal for the 2023 recruitment for interested applicants across the country.

 

According to a statement on the official website of the Service, the recruitment is open to applicants who want to apply for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.

 

To ensure a successful application, it is important to understand the following key points about the recruitment process:

 

  1. Application Period: The application period for the NIS began on Monday, January 16, 2023 and will close after two weeks on January 30, 2023.

 

  1. Method of Application: All NIS applications must be completed online. Candidates are advised to log on to the portal to fill and submit their application form. Additionally, candidates should print out the Referee forms and ensure that they are completed and submitted during the Screening stage.

 

  1. Available Positions and Qualifications: There are three categories of positions available for recruitment: Superintendent Cadre, Inspectorate Cadre and Assistant Cadre. Each category has different qualifications and requirements for applicants. Please refer to the specific category for the qualifications and requirements for each position.

 

  1. Nationality of Applicants: All applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.

 

  1. Required Documents: In order to complete the application process, candidates will need to provide a National Identity Number, e-copies of certificates and requisite qualifications in the section of the application, and certificates of medical fitness from government-recognized hospitals.

 

  1. Drug Testing: All applicants must pass a drug test in order to be considered for the recruitment process.

 

  1. Financial Stability: While the NIS did not provide a specific amount, it has stated that applicants should not be “financially embarrassed.”

 

  1. Age Limits: Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30, with the exception of doctors and pharmacists who must not be more than 35 years old.

 

  1. Computer Literacy: While it is not a requirement, the NIS has stated that computer literacy is an added advantage for applicants.

 

  1. Chest Measurement: Male applicants will be required to have a chest measurement of not less than 0.87.

 

  1. Failure to Submit Certificates: The NIS has stated that any certificate or qualification not declared and accepted during the documentation stage will not be accepted after recruitment.
