How Tinubu started preparing for Presidency since 1998 – Omokri
Reno Omokri, a prominent commentator on public affairs, has revealed that President-elect Bola Tinubu has been laying the groundwork for his presidential victory in 2023 since 1998.
Omokri highlighted that Tinubu strategically ensured the appointment of his allies to key positions within the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Court of Appeal, and other institutions.
Furthermore, Omokri emphasized that Tinubu played a pivotal role in the emergence of Ahmed Lawan as Senate President and Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
In a tweet, Omokri drew parallels between Tinubu and Senator Godswill Akpabio, stating that both politicians gleaned valuable lessons from the late MKO Abiola, a renowned figure in Nigerian politics.
Regarding the treatment Tinubu might receive from the judiciary, Omokri suggested that the judiciary could potentially be more favorable towards him compared to INEC, implying that Tinubu’s connections and influence extend to the judicial branch.
Omokri further explained that Tinubu’s extensive network and influence allowed him to appoint a former Lagos Commissioner as a prominent figure within INEC, as well as to position judges he appointed during his tenure as Governor in key roles within the Court of Appeals. Additionally, Omokri highlighted that a significant proportion of President Buhari’s ministers owe their appointments to Tinubu’s influence.
Beyond politics, Omokri noted Tinubu’s involvement in the financial success of individuals and businesses, citing his assistance in transforming the owners of Oando and Alphabets into dollar billionaires.
Lastly, Omokri pointed out that Tinubu played a significant role in the financial prosperity of numerous journalists, thereby elevating them to multimillionaire status.
