Her dedication was such that Obasanjo emphasized no honor could truly capture her impact, stating, “No amount of honor given to her would be too much.”
The event carried special significance, as it marked a tribute to Stella’s legacy that would have coincided with her 68th birthday—a milestone she tragically did not live to see.
“We never had that birthday anniversary before she died,” Obasanjo shared, underscoring the personal loss felt by him and his family.
Obasanjo also took a moment to commend Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki for his leadership, praising him for establishing a healthcare institution of such caliber in Stella’s honor.
“With this kind of edifice, I can say that the governor started well and is finishing well,” he noted, confident that the new hospital would bring first-class healthcare to Edo residents.
Stella’s memory lives on, not only in the heart of her husband but also in the countless lives that will be touched by the hospital bearing her name—a legacy of resilience, love, and dedication.
