How much Mason Mount has made from Manchester United despite limited playing time

Manchester United traded one Mason for another, but after Mount’s first season at Old Trafford, the Mason Mount transfer may not be the high profile signing the Red Devils wanted.
Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has garnered significant earnings despite limited playing time in his debut season at Old Trafford. The England international, who transferred from Chelsea last summer for a fee of £55 million, potentially rising to £60 million, has faced a challenging season marked by injuries.
The 25-year-old left Chelsea after being associated with the club since the age of six. He made the move to United with only 12 months remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Upon joining the Red Devils, Mount was entrusted with the iconic number seven shirt, previously worn by Cristiano Ronaldo. He made his competitive debut in United’s Premier League opener against Wolves.
However, Mount’s promising start was abruptly halted by a hamstring injury after just two appearances, sidelining him for five matches. Despite returning with a strong performance in United’s 1-0 victory over Luton in November, Mount’s season was plagued by further muscle injuries. His recurring fitness issues saw him in and out of the squad, significantly limiting his impact.
Mount made a notable comeback by scoring his first Premier League goal for United against Brentford in March. Yet, his appearances remained sporadic due to ongoing muscle problems. His season concluded with a brief injury-time cameo in United’s 2-1 FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City.
Financially, Mount’s move to Old Trafford has proven lucrative. According to The Telegraph, the midfielder signed a contract worth approximately £250,000 per week.
This substantial salary equates to an annual earning of £13 million. Calculating his total earnings since joining United, Mount will have made around £25,390 per minute for each of the 512 Premier League minutes he played by the time the next season commences.
The figures starkly highlight the high cost Manchester United has incurred for Mount’s services, considering his limited availability.
