How Mohammed Fawehinmi died of COVID-19 at 52!

The family of 52-years-old Mohammed Fawehinmi, Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s first son, has finally released the cause of his death.

 

Saheed Fawehinmi, his younger brother said Mohammed succumbed to COVID-19 related complications.

The family had insisted on autopsy before his burial now scheduled for 27 August.

“The family could not immediately disclose the cause of our brother’s death because we wanted the information to be based on factual medical details especially as maybe contained in the death certificate.

“Today however, we are in a position to inform you that our dear brother died from COVID-19 related complications,” Saheed, who is based in the U.S. said today.

Mohammed had complained of breathing problems on 11 August, the day he died. He was taken to hospital, where he gave up.

Meanwhile, Lanre Arogundade, Director of the International Press Center, said on behalf of the family, the night of tributes and service of songs, would be held on Wednesday.

“The family has concluded arrangements to hold the service of songs at the Vining Hall, Adetiloye House, Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Oba Akinjobi Road, GRA, Ikeja, from 4 p.m.

“Interment will be on Friday, August 27, at late Gani Fawehinmi’s Compound in Oka, Ore Road, Ondo, in Ondo state at 9 a.m.
