How legal battle forced Kiss Daniel to change name to Kizz Daniel
The social media accounts of “Yeba” crooner Kiss Daniel are announcing new changes.
Although it is not clear when the changes were made, it was noticed on Tuesday morning that the singer has changed his Instagram handle from iamkissdaniel to iamkizzdaniel.
This action stems from the legal sanction that the singer was slammed with by his erstwhile record label; G-Worldwide. Last year, the singer made an untimely exit from the label and went ahead to announce that he is now being represented by a self-owned label – Fly Boi INC. Though it was reported that the singer came out victorious in the legal battle, he lost the right to the name “Kiss Daniel” as it was trademarked by his ex-label.
Kizz Daniel as he will now be referred as has embraced his reality and his moving on with the new moniker. The singer is however yet to tender an official statement to this effect.
While his Twitter handle still remains @iamkissdaniel, his name has been changed to Kizz Daniel.
New Spotify and Apple Music accounts have also been created with the names Kizz Daniel, the two of them with his new songs featured.
Also, on Omawumi‘s new song “Me Ke,” on which he is featured, he is listed as Kizz Daniel.
