How Kobe Bryant, Daughter Died in Helicopter Crash
Popular American professional basketball player who played his entire 20-year career in the National Basketball Association with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bean Bryant has died in a private helicopter crash.
Bryant was allegedly traveling in his own private helicopter when it crashed. Four other people were killed.
According to TMZ, Bryant’s 13 year-old daughter Gianna also died in the crash. They were reportedly en route to her basketball practice in Thousand Oaks.
The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. near Las Virgenes Road, south of Agoura Road, according to a watch commander for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Four others on board also died.
Bryant was in Philadelphia last night to watch LeBron James pass him for third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.James set the record in the third quarter of the Lakers’ 108-91 loss to the 76ers, scoring 33,655 points in his career. Bryant, who retired in 2016 after spending his career with the Lakers, scored 33,643 points.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
The night before, LeBron James passed Bryant as the third-highest scorer every in the National Basketball League. Bryant tweeted his congratulations to James following the game in Philadelphia, which also happens to be Bryant’s hometown.
