How I entered the music industry after my time in a UK prison — Burna Boy
Popular Music act, Burna Boy has revealed that before he ventured into the music industry, he had spent a considerable amount of time in a Prison in the United Kingdom.
The Grammy award-winning singer took to his Twitter page, in a now-deleted tweet, revealing that he came into the Nigerian music Industry straight from Chelmsford Prison in the United Kingdom.
Burna further stated that he doesn’t really care about being given the title of the Biggest Nigerian artist as he never knew he could live this long.
According to him, he derives happiness from music. He wrote in now-deleted tweets;
“I came into the music industry straight from Chelmsford HMP. I had no idea I would even live this long.
“So when people talk about me now, it’s all just funny. Of course, I would perform with my injured leg, or even no legs or arms.
“Nigeria really doesn’t know me. I don’t care to be the biggest Nigerian artist. I’m just happy I can do what I love and take care of my people from it.
“If you knew just half of the shit I used to do for money, risking my freedom daily, you would be way happier for me.”
This is coming after Burna boy stated that he would have landed a punch on his colleague and pal, Wizkid if they were not close friends.
He stated this during an exchange with netizens who challenged him when he listed out his 2019 album’s achievements on Twitter while reacting to a tweet that listed the achievements of some record-breaking African artistes.
The singer was tagged in a tweet that listed some “basic facts in the African music industry” and his response was countering what was stated.
This, however, erupted into a back-and-forth argument between him and netizens.
In the now-deleted tweet, the singer avowed that if it weren’t for the fact that himself and singer, Wizkid were friends, he’d have punched him in the face just so his fans know that he is not Davido.
