How Atiku Abubakar emerged PDP Presidential Candidate
Nigeria’s former vice president Atiku Abubakar has emerged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku received the highest number of votes in the exercise which was held in Port Harcourt from Saturday to Sunday. He scored 1,532 votes, while his closest rival, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, polled 693.
There were a total of 3,274 accredited delegates, with Datti Baba-Ahmed getting five votes and rooted to the bottom of the table.

Atiku also took to his Twitter to thank the party, saying: “PDP, thank you for choosing me. This is a victory for all of us. The task to get Nigeria working again starts now.”
