“How APC ‘allocated Votes’ in Kogi” — Dino Melaye

The Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye has broken his silence on the Kogi Election.

After coming a distant third in the polls, the former Senator opens up on what he believed was the strategy employed by the ruling All Progressives Congress to deny his victory in the election.

According to Dino Melaye, the election was decided before the day votes were cast by the electorates, alleging that the votes rather than being cast by the voters, were allocated to each candidate who participated in the gubernatorial polls.

Melaye went on to lament the decision to make sure he came third in the polls was a calculated move by the opposition to raise any red flag that could come back to bite them in the face.

The former senator states in quote of the Kogi election that;

“A meeting was held, and they said, ‘Dino Melaye must not come second because if he comes second, it’s dangerous… so, he must become a distant third.’ There was no election; there was only an allocation of votes.

“Normally, Ajaka should not be excited that he won one, two, or three local governments in the East. It was allocated.

Dino Melaye likened the Kogi electoral process as reminiscent of the February presidential polls where the senator in defense of Abubakar Atiku, alleged that the votes were allocated to all 3 candidates in a calculated move to ensure the All Progressives Congress emerged top.

“Lagos was given to Labour. Labour should not think they won [in] Lagos; it was deliberate. The mathematics was done. The arithmetic was done.

“Kwankwaso was given Kano, knowing fully well that other states had been padded.”

In a related report from the Kogi election, a news report linked a couple of electoral officers that conducted the polls with pre-recorded election sheets even before the voting process had commenced.
