Some suspected hoodlums invaded the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, on Wednesday thereby causing chaos in the premises and attempted forceful evacuation of a corpse earlier deposited in the morgue of the hospital.

The hoodlums, arriving the facility on many motorcycles, had ordered that the organization releases a corpse brought by them on Tuesday but without any documentation.

But when the personnel they approached, whose name could not be immediately ascertained, told them they would have to fill some documents, it was learnt, they became infuriated.

The hoodlums, who openly displayed charms, threatened to cause chaos, unless the corpse was released to them.

Many staff of the hospital, relations with patients in the wards and others that had business on the premises when the drama was going on, could be seen retreating from the area, where the hoodlums had gathered to avoid being caught in the melee.

Some armed police operatives later arrived the hospital and forced the hoodlums out of the premises.

When contacted for reaction, Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee of the Hospital, Dr. Babatunde Afolabi, simply said, “The matter has been rested, they have done the coroner for the corpse. So, they have taken the body out for burial.”
