"Here is why I am not bothered" — Yul Edochie

Yul Edochie is perhaps one Nigerian who tends to drive the ire of many Nigerians each time his name pops up on social media, no matter what he does.

The Nollywood actor turned politician has amassed a number of critics to the extent his fame for some, has now become infamy.

Yul Edochie, no stranger to public scrutiny, sparked fresh reactions after boldly declaring that he enjoys the media spotlight and free publicity given to him by his critics.

In a recent Instagram video, Edochie, who faced backlash over his personal life months ago, encouraged his followers to keep talking about him, claiming he genuinely thrives on the attention.

However, the reactions from fans were anything but supportive. Some accused the actor of clout chasing, while others called his post an attempt to mask deeper issues. One fan, Abigail Iyaji, countered his statement, writing, “You lie ooo. It’s peppering you plenty. Keep faking happiness with Snapchat.”

Others chimed in, questioning Edochie’s relevance without the controversy. “Without clout chasing, who you be?” asked Tumusii Meiman, while Merci_lioness added, “Cos without that, you will be irrelevant. You have nothing to offer.”

Despite the mix of sarcasm, criticism, and mockery, Edochie seems unfazed by the noise. But is Yul Edochie truly unbothered, or is this a deeper cry for validation hidden behind a mask of defiance?
