Henderson and Bellingham Proved Their Class—Gareth Southgate

Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson has been a player who has received quite the criticism for ages, but just when the world could think of giving up on him, he proves everyone wrong with the middle finger, and with Jude Bellingham joining the conversation, Liverpool fans are left dreaming of what a midfield partnership of the duo could bring on Merseyside.

However that all depends on the clubs involved in making the transfer a reality, which to Liverpool is very much a doubt judging by the clubs in the race for the Dortmund sensation.

After his team’s 3-0 victory over Senegal on Sunday night, England boss Gareth Southgate singled out midfielders Jordan Henderson and Jude Bellingham for praise.

Henderson and Bellingham’s performances were praised by Southgate as “excellent,” and he added that they are both forward-moving, analytical midfielders.

England overcame Senegal at Al Bayt Stadium thanks to goals from Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson, and Bukayo Saka.

Now, on Saturday, the Three Lions will play France in the quarterfinal.

Speaking after the game, Southgate said:

“I thought Jude and Hendo, in particular, were outstanding in that aspect of the game.

“They are both forward-running, forward-thinking midfield players. Hendo doesn’t get many friends, but I think he has been outstanding.

“He’s such a leader, he knits the team together, around the camp he’s brilliant. And I think his performances have been top draw for us.”
