Four people narrowly escaped death on Tuesday after a helicopter crashed in the Oba Akran area of Ikeja, Lagos State.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon close to a branch of the United Bank for Africa in the area.

It was gathered that the chopper was used for training when it crashed into a building and went up in flames.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services confirmed the incident.

The spokesperson for the agency, Amodu Shakiru, said the occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries.

He said, “The helicopter crashed into a building but nobody died. The helicopter was used for training and it has four occupants on board. They had an escort motorised team that was following them on the ground during the training routine exercise which is the standard protocol.”
