Heartbroken man hangs self in Jigawa after his girlfriend got married another man

An average aged man was reported to have committed suicide in Jigawa State after his girlfriend got entangled with another man.

Ibrahim Adamu Mohd, a 42-year-old man, has committed suicide by hanging himself at Kanti quarters in Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa State after his girlfriend was said to have married another man.

TopNaija understands that on a Sunday morning (June 12), the residents of Kanti woke up, and found the man dead with a rope around his neck, dangling from a tree.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the Spokesperson of the Jigawa State Police Command, confirming the incident on Monday, said the deceased was an indigene of Gayawa village in Ungogo LGA of Kano State.

According to the Spokesperson, Ibrahim committed suicide by hanging himself along Daura Road Adjacent Baushe filling station in Kazaure town at an uncompleted building.

It was reported that a wedding invitation card and two SIM cards were found in the possession of the deceased.

Speaking to Premium Times, the police spokesperson said that the invitation card is that of the girlfriend.

The family of the man confirmed that the man killed himself because he was heartbroken after his girlfriend married another man.

However, it was gathered that the residents had difficulty identifying the deceased as he was said to have travelled from neighbouring Kano to commit suicide in the area.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at a mortuary in the Kazaure council area
