He owes Manchester United no loyalty—Liverpool legend fires

It’s safe to say that no Liverpool legend is ever going to give arch rivals, Manchester United a soft landing any time soon.

For Dean Saunders, he doesn’t want to hear anything about Cristiano Ronaldo not staying loyal to Manchester United as to him, the Portuguese owes the Old Trafford club nothing.

The former Liverpool striker believes CR7 can do whatever he wants at this stage of his career without holding on to sentiments considering he has done quite a lot in the beautiful game.

Cristiano Ronaldo turned heads the minute he tabled a transfer request to the United board, with a lot of pundits and football fans talking about the topic.

Some have labeled criticisms and accused the player of having no loyalty to the club for wanting out and trying to abandon ship in search of Champions league football.

The player who is currently absent from the team over ‘family issues’ has not been seen with the Red Devils ever since pre-season began.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been taking the center stage talking to several clubs in a bid to secure his client a departure from Man United.

With links to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, it has become something of everyone’s interest regarding what the former Real Madrid player’s next club would be in the ongoing transfer window.

Speaking to talkSport, the Liverpool legend said:

“He (Alex Crook) said, ‘Do you think Ronaldo owes Manchester United because we started his career off?’ And I said no, he has done so much in the game that he owes nobody nothing. Neither does (Lionel) Messi.”

“I don’t think he owes anybody any loyalty. He has just given us so much pleasure over the years, and he has achieved so much in his career. He can do whatever he wants.”
