"He is not a real fan" -- Patrice Evra trolls Chelsea star

Patrice Evra, former Manchester United defender, humorously chided Chelsea forward Cole Palmer for what he jokingly termed as a “not-so-great moment” after the player scored against Manchester United in a recent fixture.

Palmer, a self-professed boyhood fan of Manchester United, emerged from Manchester City’s academy ranks before making a significant move to Chelsea in a notable £42.5 million deal during the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old has made an impressive start to his tenure at Chelsea, showcasing his talent and contributing significantly. Notably, he found the net in his side’s recent clash against Manchester United, where Chelsea faced a 2-1 defeat.

During a conversation on Amazon Prime, Evra playfully remarked, “I think he [Palmer] let us down! I need to talk to his parents!” in reference to Palmer’s upbringing as a United supporter before joining City and subsequently scoring against the Red Devils.

In a light-hearted manner, Evra touched upon the irony of Palmer, who grew up supporting United, later playing for City and eventually netting a goal against his childhood club, jesting that this might question the player’s allegiance as a “real fan.”

“He grew up a United fan, you end up playing for City and you score a goal against United? He must not be a real fan.”
