He deserves the Ballon d’or No Cap--Ancelotti

This season’s coming Ballon D’or trophy presentation is one that will be marked as the award that is given without any debate, considering the general consensus is for Karim Benzema to be given the award.

This is solely because no opposition player came close to matching the feats of the Frenchman if stats were to be measured up.

The Real Madrid captain, Karim Benzema stands out in every way, be it the goals, the assists, the key inputs to winning trophies for Real Madrid.

It is believed that there is no argument if one were to say Real Madrid would be out of the Champions League last season had it not being for Karim Benzema’s efforts.

He scored vital goals against all their knock out stages opponents, aside in the final against Liverpool.

The Frenchman even carried that form into the La Liga, helping Madrid see off teams to clinch the league title ahead of Barcelona or Atletico Madrid.

And just recently, he scored to clinch Real Madrid the UEFA Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The goal takes him to sitting 2nd place behind Cristiano Ronaldo who is at 451 goals in Real Madrid’s all time goal scorers lists as he has 324 goals to his tally now.

And it is quite the boost considering his manager, Carlo Ancelotti shares in those same sentiments with his comments:

“[Benzema] is a leader. If we’re here, it’s partly because of him. He scored a lot of goals. Now for the Ballon D’Or… Are there any doubts? I don’t think anyone has doubts about that.

“For us he’s the most important player, he’s the most efficient player in the world in this moment.

“He was important to win the Champions League. He didn’t score in the final but with his goals, we played the final.

“He scored against [Manchester] City, against Chelsea, against Paris [Saint-Germain]. He’s so important for us, there’s no doubt that at this moment he’s the best,” Ancelotti told Movistar.
