Harvey Elliott causes major upset for Liverpool

Premier League club Liverpool have suffered an injury set back during the international break as wonder kid, Harvey Elliott has been confirmed to have sustained a fractured foot.

According to reports, the England Youth international is set to be out for at least a month and a half, with Elliott reportedly eyed for a return until the end of the next international break in October as per The Telegraph.

The impressive forward/midfielder proved himself earlier during pre-season games for Liverpool but saw his game time reduced once the season started. Harvey Elliott now finds himself on the sidelines for an extended period after sustaining an injury during the training season with England’s youth team and has returned back to the care of his club.

Judging by his expected date of return, the midfielder will not see game time until no sooner than against Chelsea after the October international break on Sunday the 20th. This is ironically the fixture that Elliott impressed in during his debut season for Liverpool in 2021/22 season under Jurgen Klopp.

So far, Harvey Elliott has provided quite the challenge for Dominick Szoboszlai who continues to impress under new head coach, Arne Slot. With Elliott out, competition lessens for the Hungarian and for Liverpool, this is a challenge as the Reds will face tough times with the return of the Champions League.
