Harry Potter creator, J. K Rowling stands her ground
Harry Potter creator and Billionaire author, Joanne Rowling, famously known as J. K Rowling has recently faced media scrutiny over her stance on the transgender community, after refusing to welcome the notion that transgender women are women.
Her opinion however has earned her a negative spotlight in the entertainment industry, with many of the Harry Potter franchise stars turning on her and the media in general canceling the author.
The media cancellation has even gotten a few of the writer’s fans, specifically the Harry Potter fans to turn on the author, with some speaking in the negative light of her subsequent works particularly in the Fantastic Beasts movie franchise where she served as a producer.
However, J. K Rowling still maintains her staunch stance and when provided an opportunity, still stands by her assertion that the transgender community particularly transgender women cannot be accepted as women.
Taking to her social media platform on X, J. K Rowling shared a photo text that reads: “Repeat after us: Transwomen are women.”, and the Harry Potter author did not hesitate to squash the assertion.
The author categorically stated, ‘No’ in response to the assertion insisting she will not accept transgender women as women despite being cancelled by the industry for it.
Since 2020, Rowling has been under fire from the LGBTQIA community over her insistence that transwomen should not take up spaces meant for women.
The controversy as with the entertainment industry has resulted in the most popular faces from the Harry Potter franchise films such as Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Eddie Redmayne to turn on her.
