A masquerader has been shot dead alongside two people at Inoziomi Quarters, in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

They were reportedly shot on Saturday during the Ebe Festival, a local celebration.

A source, who witnessed the incident, said it occurred around 9pm when some gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the victims.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, confirmed the killings.

Aya, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, assured that the perpetrators of the “heinous act will be apprehended to face the wrath of the law.”

In another development, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Always Petroleum and Gas, Alhaji Otinau Momoh-Jimoh, has been abducted.

The oil mogul, who is in his early 40s, was reportedly abducted around 8pm on Sunday opposite Okene Central Mosque where he often spent time with friends and business associates.

An eyewitness revealed that some gunmen stormed the place and shot continuously to scare people away.

The witness, who identified himself as Usman Ishaq, added that as people were scampering to safety, two of the gunmen held the oil mogul by the hand and dragged him into a Toyota Camry.

He said the assailants drove the victim to an unknown location.

Ishaq said the abductors had yet to call the victim’s family members, adding that no ransom had been demanded.

The PPRO, Aya, however, said the kidnap had yet to be reported to the command.
