Gunmen abduct seven Naval Officials in Edo State

Gunmen assumed to be kidnappers have abducted seven personnel of the Nigerian Navy in Edo State, Top Naija has learnt.

The officials were ambushed and abducted along Sapele-Warri road while travelling to Delta from Kaduna State.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kotongs Bello, who confirmed the incident to Top Naija disclosed that the command has rescued five of the personnel.

The PPRO who was not able to give details of the incident, declared that the command is working hard to make sure the remaining personnel are also rescued unharmed.

Criminal activities have gone berserk nationwide, killing and abducting citizens in spite of efforts by the Nigerian Army and other security organisations.

A number of students and travellers are presently in kidnappers dens, especially in the North where banditry is relatively a business.

Banditry is one of the current challenges the country is facing and the Federal Government and other security agencies are doing everything possible to address the issue.
