Guardiola rules out winning the Premier League
Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola refuses to get carried away by the narratives surrounding a fourth consecutive premier league title with the Etihad side.
According to the Spaniard, nothing is guarantied at this stage as he acknowledges the challenging nature of their upcoming away fixtures against Fulham and Tottenham, following their 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola expressed the difficulty of the remaining games, despite keeping City just one point behind league leaders Arsenal, who have played one game more.
“Everything can happen, Liverpool have dropped points in the last few games but that can happen to us, can happen to Arsenal, so tough games for everyone. Fulham away and Spurs away will be difficult.”
Addressing the unpredictable nature of the Premier League, Guardiola emphasized the possibility of dropping points, as seen with Liverpool in recent matches. He highlighted the tough encounters awaiting not only City but also their title rivals Arsenal.
Guardiola acknowledged the demanding nature of their schedule, expressing a preference for continuous engagement rather than extended breaks. Despite this, he recognized the importance of utilizing the limited time for recovery and preparation ahead of crucial fixtures which he considers as three finals.
“But in the circumstances we have two or three days to recover and prepare for all the finals that we have.”
