It was gathered that this is not the first time the groom will be declared missing. In 2008, while a student at Makerere College School, Wabwire was allegedly kidnapped towards his UACE exams and discovered in Rwanda.

The missing stunt he pulled few days to his wedding, left his friends contributing funds to aid him in organizing his wedding this weekend, to his wife-to-be Mercy Twinomujuni.

The Police Statement read in part;

“Tumwebaze’s family reported the disappearance case 11/17/02/2018 of their son on 17th February 2018 at Kisoota Police Station under Kira Road Division. Police then tracked him through one of his close friends.

According to family members wedding preparations are to be resumed with immediate effect.

According to the groom’s mother, Mr Juliet Nabwire, Wabwire on the fateful day was supposed to be going for his wedding meeting at 6:00pm, but found that he did not have airtime to call friends, so he just went out of the house to buy airtime at about 5:10pm.

“He did not return, after one hour we realised he had not arrived at Bona Petit restaurant along Dewinton Road. He never goes out without dressing so well, he was just in a t-shirt and jeans. We got concerned,” Ms Nabwire narrated.

“My uncle Fred Mageni called and said they were closing because there was no one at the meeting. I called his girlfriend and she did not know where he was. We started looking for him,” she added

However, on Saturday morning, unidentified person contacted the bride Mercy Twinomujuni and told her that the wedding preparations were still on. The two were initially supposed to take vows on Saturday this week (March 3, 2018).
