Governors Akeredolu, Obaseki test negative for Coronavirus

Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, have tested negative for coronavirus.

The announcement was made by the governors through their official twitter handle this morning.

Governor Akeredolu’s tweet read;

Good morning sir. The result is negative. Congratulations your Excellency” I just recieved the above text from the Commissioner for Health regarding my #Covid19 test results. We give all glory to God. Wish everyone affected speedy recovery.

In a tweet posted this morning, the Edo governor said the result of the rapid diagnostic test came back negative but he awaits the result of the PCR test and would remain in self-isolation.

My rapid diagnotic test for #Coronavirus ( #COVID?19 ) came back negative. However, while still asymptomatic, I have decided to remain in self-isolation and continue working from my private office at home pending the result of the more conclusive PCR test.

The governor on Wednesday, March 25th announced he has gone into self-isolation after two persons who he came in contact within recent times have both tested positive for the virus.
