Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has dissolved his cabinet, firing his Chief of Staff and alongside 177 commissioners, just two years after they were appointed.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that Makinde announced the dissolution of the Executive Council after a meeting of the body on Tuesday, which lasted about five hours.

The termination of the appointments of the state executive council who were appointed in 2019 takes effect from July 29. The Cabinet was constituted on August 14, 2019.
