Governor Masari to lift telecoms ban before January

Governor Aminu Masari has said that the ban on telecom services in the remaining seven local government areas (LGAs) of Katsina state which he governs, will be lifted before January 2022, Top Naija reports.

Speaking during a media parley with journalists, Masari urged residents to do their best to protect their areas from bandit attacks.

Telecommunication services in the state was cut off to starve criminals of means of communication following an operation carried out by security operatives in the state.

The ban on telecommunication services has however been lifted in 10 out of the 17 LGAs in the state which were continuously attacked by bandits.

Masari was the Commissioner for works, housing and transport Katsina state from 1991 to 1993. He was the speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007
