Governor Makinde swears in new Oyo State customary court of appeal president
In a ceremony held at the governor’s office in Ibadan, Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated Justice Tajudeen Mohammed Abdulganiyu as the new President of the Oyo State Customary Court of Appeal.
Speaking at the event, Governor Makinde emphasized that Justice Abdulganiyu’s appointment followed due process and recommendations without any political, religious, or ethnic bias.
“His appointment as President of the Customary Court of Appeal was recommended to the NJC and duly confirmed. We didn’t short-circuit the process. We are committed to doing what is right,” stated Governor Makinde.
Highlighting Justice Abdulganiyu’s background, Governor Makinde noted, “He is a Muslim and not from Ibadan; he is from Igbeti. But we don’t care about such distinctions here in Oyo State. We follow due process and uphold fairness.”
Governor Makinde reaffirmed his administration’s support for the judiciary, expressing confidence in maintaining a harmonious relationship with the judiciary for effective governance.
